Principle: your business data stays with you
Simplavo is local software. Your business data – contacts, customers, quotes, invoices, projects and time entries – is stored exclusively on your own computer. There is no cloud sync to servers of Seitenkick GmbH and no analysis of your content.
What reaches us is limited to what is necessary for your account and your licence. This policy explains exactly what that is.

Data in the Simplavo software
The business data you record with Simplavo is held in a local database on your device. It is not transmitted to us.
Your licence status is cached locally so that the software remains usable without an internet connection.
Account and licence server
To purchase and use a licence, you keep an account on our licence server (api.simplavo.com). There we process your email address, your password in encrypted form, the status of your licence and of the modules you have booked, as well as an identifier of the device on which Simplavo is active.
The device identifier serves to assign your licence to one active workstation. If you sign in on a different device, that device takes the place of the previous one.
The purpose of this processing is the performance of the licence agreement. The data is deleted when you close your account; we retain only what we are legally required to keep, in particular accounting records.
Payment processing (Paddle)
Licences are purchased through Paddle.com Market Ltd., which acts as the seller (Merchant of Record). You enter your payment details directly with Paddle; we receive neither your card number nor your bank details.
After a purchase, Paddle informs us which licence belongs to which account so that the modules can be unlocked.

This website
When you visit this website, the server processes technically necessary access data (IP address, browser identification, requested address, timestamp). It is used to deliver the page and to mitigate abuse.
TODO: Check the retention period for server logs with the hosting provider and state it here.
Audience measurement
Where enabled, this website uses Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool. Umami sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and builds no cross-device profiles. The figures collected are aggregated and cannot be traced back to you as a person.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a data-minimising audience measurement (Art. 31 revFADP, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Fonts
The typeface used is served from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other external service.
Your rights
Under the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability.
Your business data is under your own control in any case: it resides on your computer and can be exported or deleted there. For enquiries concerning account and licence data, you can reach us at support@simplavo.ch.

We may adapt this policy when the software, the services we use or the legal situation change. The version published on this page applies.
